Ensuring a Seamless South African Adventure

At PJ Hunting Safaris, we recognize that organizing a safari to South Africa can raise many questions. We're here to guide you every step of the way, whether you contact us directly or through one of our representatives.

Step-by-Step Safari Planning

Step 1: Choosing Your Safari Destination
Selecting the right outfitter and location is crucial. That’s why our lodges and hunting areas maintain the highest standards and are exceptionally family-friendly, ensuring a comfortable and rewarding experience.

Step 2: Customizing Your Safari Experience
Once you’ve chosen PJ Hunting Safaris as your outfitter, the next step is to select a safari package that fits your specific needs and schedule. Remember, we can tailor any safari to meet your unique requirements, making your adventure truly yours.

Step 3: Securing Your Booking
To secure your preferred dates, you’ll need to sign a hunting contract and pay a deposit. Specific details and conditions may vary from one safari to another, and your outfitter will provide all the necessary information.

Step 4: Arranging Travel
Most international flights from America, Europe, and Australia land in Johannesburg, where we often meet our clients. From there, you can take a connecting flight to Polokwane Airport, just a two-hour drive from our lodge, or opt for a private charter directly to our game reserve’s airstrip.

Rifle Import Assistance

We assist with the importation of your rifle. Simply provide us with a copy of your Customs Declaration Form 4457, your passport, and your flight itinerary.

Recommended Safari Gear

To enhance your safari experience, we recommend bringing:

  • Binoculars
  • Camera
  • Torch
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun cream
  • Insect repellent
  • Any necessary medical prescriptions

Appropriate Clothing

For your comfort and suitability to the environment, pack:

  • Dark green or brown hunting shirts and trousers
  • Camo clothing, which is legal in South Africa
  • Shorts
  • A hat or cap
  • Underwear
  • A sweater or light jacket for cooler times
  • Comfortable hunting shoes
  • Socks
  • Handkerchief
  • Swimsuit for leisure time

With these steps and tips, PJ Hunting Safaris is committed to making your South African safari adventure as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
