PJ Hunting Safaris, led by the Jansen brothers, Piet and Eugene, represents a lifelong commitment to the art of hunting, deeply rooted in a childhood spent on their grandfather’s game farm. Here, amidst the wild beauty of nature, they not only cultivated a passion for hunting but also learned the crucial aspects of wildlife conservation and management.
Piet Jansen, born in Musina on March 15, 1981, has been passionate about nature and hunting since his early years. Educated at Musina Primary and Eric Louw High School, Piet excelled in target shooting, representing his province. After his schooling, Piet embarked on his career as a Hunting Area Manager, further enhancing his skills by completing his Professional Hunting Course, Enviro Guide Course, and Archery Course. Starting as one of the youngest Professional Hunters in the Limpopo Valley, Piet has earned a respected name in the industry, specializing in big game hunting with a focus on Buffalo, Leopard, and Elephant. Piet, alongside his wife Lizette who manages the lodges and office operations for PJ Safaris, is a proud father to a son and a daughter.
Eugene Jansen, born just over a year later on June 1, 1982, in Musina, shared his childhood and passion for the great outdoors with his brother, Piet. After attending the same schools and excelling in target shooting, Eugene pursued another passion in England, playing rugby for two years. Returning to South Africa in 2003, he completed his Professional Hunters and Enviro Guide Courses and has been guiding hunts with zeal ever since. A licensed Big Game Hunter like his brother, Eugene’s expertise adds to the formidable duo at PJ Safaris. Eugene and his wife Samantha, a local school teacher, are the loving parents of three daughters.
PJ Hunting Safaris is more than a business; it’s a family legacy of respecting and preserving the natural world through responsible hunting.
